The food safety and drug control department has been taking proactive measures to ensure quality of food products being manufactured in several factories in the city. Food Safety and Drug Control Department raided the manufacturing unit of Radhe Bakers on Thursday, and discovered spoiled food items being sold at outlets opened at various places in the capital. When the team raided the unit located in Jhotwara, there were insects in the cake. Rats were running here and there in the factory. Also, cashew nuts and peanuts were infected with fungus. Not only this, the place where food items were being prepared was strewn with filth.

Pankaj Ojha, Additional Commissioner of Food Safety, reported that Radhey Bakers, located in the Jhotwara Industrial Area, had been the subject of numerous complaints regarding their food products for several days. Upon conducting a raid on Thursday, the team discovered deplorable conditions at the site. Consequently, the unit has been sealed until further notice, with the operation room and oven of the bakery being confiscated. Production of cakes, biscuits, and pav at the bakery has been halted temporarily. Ojha stated that during the raid, a significant quantity of food color boxes used in the bakery were found without expiration dates or manufacturing dates.

Moreover, cakes observed in the factory were found to be unsanitary, exposed to dirt, flies, and insects. Approximately 15 kg of such cakes were destroyed. Additionally, the team observed iron trays used for making pastries and patties, which appeared heavily soiled, indicating a lack of cleaning for an extended period.

Rats were seen roaming everywhere in the factory. Due to this there was a danger of bacteria spreading in the food items. After finding all the filth and expired items, our team sealed the factory. Work was also done to suspend its food license. Pankaj Ojha said that this is the first case of suspending the food license of any factory.

Radhe Bakers has a total of 3 outlets in Jaipur including Vidyadhar Nagar, Murlipura. Where goods made in the factory are being sold. The team had only raided the factory. From where biscuits, pastries, nankhatai, food fans and food colors have been sealed. Fungus was also found in cashew nuts and peanuts. All these items were confiscated. After this they have been sent to the lab for testing.
In addition, the team conducted raids on CM Bakers situated in Jagatpura. Food items produced in the bakery lacked manufacturing dates and expiry dates for ingredients. Molds utilized for product creation were discovered to be oily and dusty. Furthermore, sugar boilers were observed to have been used extensively. Within the working area, two expired bottles of Crush were found. Additionally, six 200ml water bottles lacked “Best Before” markings, and seven bottles of various flavors were retained past their expiry dates.
