Congress will convene a gathering of the state unit chiefs and legislative party leaders of the party on January 4 in New Delhi.

The meeting will be chaired by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and purpose of this meeting is to deliberate on the arrangements for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well as the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ that will be undertaken by Rahul Gandhi.

Congress announced last month that former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will undertake Bharat Nyaya Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai from January 14 to March 20. This is Rahul Gandhi’s second Yatra after last year’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

With the Lok Sabha elections likely to be held in April-May, the opposition parties in India bloc have a tough task of breaking the seat-sharing agreement in their bid to unify the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Some parties in India bloc have urged the Congress to be big-hearted. The seat-sharing talks will determine whether the opposition group can forge unity in forming a united front against the BJP.
