SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS, led a comprehensive meeting at DPO Kishtwar to evaluate ongoing and trial cases, with a specific focus on UAPA cases. During the session, Mr. Poswal-JKPS underscored the need to revisit directives from the Police Headquarters regarding UAPA case investigations. He stressed the importance of conducting swift, result-oriented investigations to dismantle the terror ecosystem.
In a concerted effort to enhance investigations and implement action plans, SSP Kishtwar called for a more serious approach. He advocated for efficient and timely submission of chargesheets while emphasizing the identification and prosecution of all individuals involved in supporting terrorists, not just the primary perpetrators. The directive included stringent action against Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) and support networks, with provisions for the lawful seizure of accused individuals’ property. Additionally, individuals absconding from legal proceedings were to be declared as ‘proclaimed offenders.’
