By

Washington [US], February 25 (ANI): Disney+ has a whole slate of new shows coming this spring, including some from the insanely popular Marvel and Star Wars universes.
As per Entertainment Weekly, the streaming service on Wednesday announced that ‘Loki’ starring actor Tom Hiddleston in the titular role, will premiere on June 11, this year.
The upcoming series, which takes place after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, will follow Loki, the God of Mischief, as he steps out of his brother’s shadow. In addition to Hiddleston, it will also feature Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
Hiddleston previously teased ‘Loki’ during San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, telling fans his character has “a lot of psychological evolution” to work through.
“You guys saw Avengers, right? So he’s still that guy. And just about the last thing that happened to him was he got Hulk-smashed. So there’s a lot of psychological evolution that is still yet to happen. This is new territory, a new world, new challenges, and I cannot wait to get started,” he said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

During a Wednesday Q&A, Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige also gave an update on two other Marvel series coming soon to Disney+. ‘She-Hulk’ starts filming in a few weeks, and ‘Moon Knight’ will begin right after.
On Wednesday, Disney+ announced that the animated series titled ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ will debut on May 4, this year.
The show’s characters — the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch — were first introduced in ‘The Clone Wars’, which premiered in 2008 on the Cartoon Network and wrapped its final season on Disney+ last year.
Each member of the group possesses a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the new series, the Bad Batch must find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.

In addition to ‘Loki’ and ‘The Bad Batch’, Disney+ revealed the premiere dates for several other shows, including Monsters Inc. spinoff ‘Monsters at Work’ (July 12), the John Stamos-led basketball series ‘Big Shot’ (April 16) and the ‘Turner and Hooch’ reboot starring Josh Peck (July 16). (ANI)

New Delhi (India), February 25 (ANI): Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi gave his own twist to the popular ‘Pawri Hori Hai’ meme trend by making self-deprecating jest of himself on Thursday. The Mumbai Police had recently fined him for his video in which he could be seen riding a bike with his wife, without a helmet and a mask on.
The ‘Saathiya’ actor on Wednesday night shared a video on his Instagram account, dedicated to the Mumbai Police. However, what grabbed the netizens’ attention was that he shared the message in a rather hilarious way, emulating Pakistani influencer and content creator Dananeer Mobeen who inspired the popular ‘pawri’ meme fest.
In the video, he first showcased his bike and then flashed the e-challan issued to him. Vivek said in the clip, “Yeh hum hain, yeh hamari bikes hai aur yeh hamari pawti kat gayi hai.”
Using hashtags, Vivek also urged everyone to wear a helmet while driving and prioritising their safety. He captioned the video, “This is for you @MumbaiPolice #pawtikatgayihai #PawriNahiHoRahiHai . . . @MumbaiPolice #SaathiyaOfSafety #WearHelmet #WearMask #SafetyFirst.”

Earlier, on Valentine’s Day, Vivek Oberoi had shared a video in which he and his wife, Priyanka Alva went for a joyride on his new bike at midnight on the empty streets of Mumbai. Vivek also met his fans and clicked some selfies with them, at a petrol station.
While the video was showered with love from his fans, it also received a lot of backlash from other netizens, who called him irresponsible for not wearing a helmet while riding the bike, and mask during the on-going coronavirus pandemic.
Soon, an e-challan was issued to the actor-producer by the Mumbai Police for driving without a helmet and flouting traffic rules. An FIR was also filed against Vivek for not adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.
On February 20, Vivek took to Twitter and apologised to the Mumbai police for breaching road safety rules and wrote, “Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya! Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan! Riding without a helmet? Mumbai police will do a checkmate! Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe, wear a helmet & a mask”.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor is currently working on his production ventures, ‘Rosie: Saffron Chapter’ and ‘Iti: Can You Solve your Own Murder’. ‘Rosie’ will mark the debut of Palak Tiwari, daughter of TV star Shweta Tiwari. (ANI)

The announcement regarding the movies making their way to the streamer was made during ViacomCBS’ investor day on Wednesday. The upcoming streaming service Paramount+ will launch on March 4, this year. The platform, a rebrand, and expansion of CBS All Access will have to compete with a glut of streaming service offerings, including Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney Plus, and Apple TV Plus.
On Monday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gave the green light for movie theatres to open at a reduced capacity — 25 per cent or 50 people per auditorium– almost a year after the pandemic forced them to close their doors. (ANI)
