Team India’s last group match, which was scheduled against Canada, had to be abandoned without a single ball being bowled. This unfortunate turn of events was caused by a persistently wet outfield at Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida, on that particular Saturday.
India has already secured their spot in the Super Eights, so the rain delay allowed Rohit Sharma and his team to take a breather and unwind. It also provided an opportunity for India’s head coach Rahul Dravid to offer encouragement to the Canadian cricket players.
The BCCI posted a video on the X platform showcasing an interaction in which Dravid was presented with a Canada T-shirt by the Canada team management before the Indian team departed for Barbados.

The Indian squad is scheduled to practice at Barbados on June 17 in readiness for their match against Afghanistan. Following that, India will compete against Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Australia in Barbados, Antigua, and St Lucia, respectively, during the Super Eights phase.
