Virat Kohli, India’s star batsman, arrived in Colombo on Monday to prepare for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. He was warmly welcomed by Sri Lankan airport staff and fans, who eagerly posed for photos with the acclaimed cricketer.
After retiring from T20 Internationals following India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Kohli is now shifting his focus to One Day Internationals and Test matches.
The remaining members of the Indian team are expected to join captain Rohit Sharma and the ODI squad after the final T20I in Pallekele on July 30.

Rohit Sharma, who leads India in both ODIs and Tests, has already arrived in Colombo. Alongside him, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, and Harshit Rana have checked into the ITC Ratnadipa hotel.
With India having already clinched the T20I series by winning the first two games, attention now turns to the ODI series. The series will commence on August 2 at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, with the second ODI scheduled for August 4 and the series concluding on August 7.
