Paris Olympics 2024: Don’t Miss Out These 5 Things On Day 4

India went without medals on Monday as shooters Ramita Jindal (women) and Arjun Babuta (men) placed seventh and fourth, respectively, in the 10m air rifle finals at the National Shooting Centre in Chateauroux. Additionally, the Indian men’s archery team lost 2-6 to Turkey in the quarter-finals, missing another chance.

However, a new day brings fresh opportunities. Here’s what to look forward to on Tuesday:

Shooting

Manu Bhaker is once again a medal hopeful for India. The 22-year-old, along with Sarabjot Singh, will compete in the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze playoff against South Korean opponents. Prithviraj Tondaiman could also be a contender if he qualifies for the men’s trap final with two qualification rounds remaining on Tuesday.

Time: 1 PM

Hockey

After two rounds of matches, the Indian men’s team is in third place in Pool B, trailing reigning champions Belgium and Australia. India, having defeated New Zealand and drawn with Argentina, will face Ireland on Tuesday, the lowest-ranked team in the pool at No. 11. Though Ireland has lost both their matches so far, they provided stiff competition to both Belgium and Australia.

Time: 4:45 PM

Boxing

Amit Panghal aims to make an impact in the men’s 51kg Round of 16 against Zambia’s Patrick Chinyemba. Preeti Pawar, in the women’s 54kg, will go up against Colombia’s Yeni Marcela Arias Castaneda in the Round of 16. Jaismine will kick off her campaign against Filipino Nesthy Petecio in the women’s 57kg Round of 32.

Time: 7:16 PM onwards

Gymnastics

Team USA’s Simone Biles is set to vie for her first Olympic gold medal since the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games in the women’s team final in artistic gymnastics.

Time: 9:45 PM

Swimming

Three swimming finals will take place on Tuesday: the women’s 100m backstroke, men’s 800m freestyle, and men’s 4x200m freestyle relay finals.

Time: 12:26 AM onwards (Wednesday)
