Kapil Dev Questions Rohit Sharma’s Approach: Asks, “Why is Bumrah Not Being Used to His Full Potential?”

The decision to not utilize Jasprit Bumrah with the new ball has sparked debates, especially considering his effectiveness as a wicket-taking bowler. Kapil Dev, India’s legendary cricketer, expressed concerns about this strategy, emphasizing that Bumrah should bowl the first over to maximize his impact on the game.

Kapil’s argument stems from the belief that Bumrah’s ability to take wickets early in the innings can set the tone for India’s bowling attack and put pressure on the opposition. By delaying his entry into the bowling attack, India risks missing out on crucial breakthroughs, which could sway the momentum of the match.

While Bumrah has been successful even when introduced later in the innings, Kapil advocates for a proactive approach, where Bumrah’s threat is immediately imposed on the opposition batsmen. This, according to Kapil, not only enhances India’s chances of taking early wickets but also eases the pressure on other bowlers.

Despite concerns over the strain on Bumrah’s body due to his unique bowling action, Kapil acknowledges Bumrah’s resilience and effectiveness. He believes that Bumrah’s aggressive mindset and ability to adapt make him a potent force in any bowling role.

In conclusion, while Bumrah has performed admirably regardless of when he bowls, Kapil Dev advocates for a more proactive approach, where Bumrah opens the bowling to maximize his impact and create early opportunities for India.
