Hans Niemann wants to join The Joe Rogan Experience after Magnus Carlsen’s interview stirred controversy. The 21-year-old American grandmaster disputed Carlsen’s claims about their cheating scandal. Therefore, he urged Rogan to invite him on the podcast to present his side.
Niemann Challenges Rogan
Niemann posted on X (formerly Twitter) and criticized Rogan for trusting “the establishment.” Moreover, he said he was ready to discuss the controversy from 2023 when Carlsen accused him of cheating at the Sinquefield Cup.
“Surprised to see unquestioned trust in the establishment. @joerogan Your podcast has always been about challenging the narrative. Ready to share the truth anytime,” Niemann wrote.
Feud with Carlsen Continues
Recently, Niemann has strongly criticized Carlsen. After Carlsen’s interview with Rogan, Niemann responded sharply. In fact, he stated he would “rather retire” than take part in “malicious accusations.”
“I’d rather retire than stoop to malicious accusations and character assassination. My commitment to chess is eternal, the chess will speak in due time,” Niemann posted last Friday.
The Cheating Scandal
The dispute started in 2022 when Carlsen accused Niemann of cheating in over-the-board games. As a result, Niemann sued Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, and Chess.com for $100 million. Although he admitted to past online cheating, he denied wrongdoing in classical games.
Eventually, a US judge dismissed the lawsuit, and the case was settled in August 2023. However, Carlsen’s comments on Rogan’s podcast have reignited the conflict.
