As a skincare enthusiast, I’ve always been on the hunt for the perfect sunscreen. The scorching summer sun can be quite unforgiving, and a good sunscreen is a must-have. Here’s my personal experience with five different sunscreens that I’ve tried recently.

1. Firstly, the Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 by Paula’s Choice was a game-changer. The texture was incredibly light, and it absorbed into my skin almost instantly. It didn’t leave any white cast, which is a common issue with many sunscreens. The best part? The SPF has antioxidants and resveratrol, and doubles up as an anti-aging product, targeting fine lines and wrinkles. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed my skin looked smoother and more youthful. The longevity was impressive too, it lasted all day without making my skin feel greasy.

2. Next, I tried the Perfectionist Pro Multi-Defense Aqua UV Gel SPF 50 by Estee Lauder. This one felt like a splash of water on my skin – so refreshing! It was super hydrating, which is a big plus for my dry skin. The high SPF helps protect against UVA/UVB exposure and provides excellent protection against the harsh sun. It stayed put for a good 6-7 hours, after which I needed a little touch-up. It’s formulation with 8 anti-oxidants and advanced fortifiers that help seal in skin’s moisture makes it a 10/10 for me!

3. The Superdefense City Block SPF 50 by Clinique was another winner. It was slightly thicker than the previous two, but it blended well into my skin. It didn’t feel heavy or sticky, which is a big plus for me. The high SPF was perfect for those long summer days, making my face look bright, energetic and protected! It lasted throughout the day, and I didn’t need to reapply it.

4. The Plum Rice Water & Niacinamide Hybrid Sunscreen with SPF 50 PA+++ was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time trying a hybrid sunscreen, and I was impressed. The rice water and niacinamide worked wonders on my skin, leaving it bright, glowing, and with reduced signs of blemishes. The sunscreen was light and non-greasy, and it lasted for a good 5-6 hours.

5. Lastly, the Light it up SPF 40 PA ++++ mist by Skinvest was a convenient option for on-the-go touch-ups. The SPF mist is composed of licorice root, kumkumadi tailam, bakuchiol and squalane, and this magic elixir helped not only protect, but also de-tanned and hydrated my skin. It provided decent protection against the sun, and is perfect to use if you have makeup on! It’s fast absorbing and quick hassle free coverage formula makes it a puck-me-up for the lazy ones.

These 5 sunscreens were excellent in their own ways. They were light, non-greasy, and provided good protection against the sun. They are definitely my must-haves for the summer and they should be yours too!
