In connection with the alleged gang rape of a specially abled woman, Rajasthan police arrested two accused on Sunday.

Earlier on 24 November, the accused raped a 20-year-old deaf and mute Dalit girl in the Barmar district.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Vishnoi and Bhajan Lal.

Meanwhile, Deepak Bhargava Barmar, Superintendent of Police said, “On 24 November, a 20-year-old deaf and mute girl was raped in Barmer. After 17 days of the probe, two men, Sunil and Bhajan Lal, were arrested.”

Moreover, at a police station, the victim’s father registered a case and on the same day as arresting the accused, the investigation was initiated.

However, police further said, it was a big challenge for the police to nab the accused as the victim was deaf and could not take the name of the accused.

“We identified the accused after a woman gave explained to us through sign language and some inputs she gave in writing. We identified around 15 people in the matter and then arrested these two. We questioned them, they have accepted the crime,” Bhargava said.

Further investigations into the matter are awaited.
