Kangra Police has formed SIT to investigate the Khalistani Zindabad slogan written on the wall of the Jal Shakti Department office, a few days before the ODI World Cup match in Dharamshala.
The committee formed under the leadership of DSP Head Quarter Kangra RP Jaswal is today examining the footage of the CCTV cameras installed above the Jal Shakti Department office from Gandhi Vatika Kotwali market.
Efforts are being made to identify the suspects because the police are finding it difficult to identify two suspects seen yesterday in the CCTV footage. Both the accused were wearing masks. Due to this both of them could not be found.
Before the World Cup, mischievous elements have tried to spoil the atmosphere by writing slogans of ‘Khalistan Zindabad’. Therefore, the police have also taken active steps in this matter. However, before the World Cup, such negligence raised questions about the functioning of the security agencies.
Sikh for Justice chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has taken responsibility for these slogans. Pannu has also released a video. Gurpatwant Pannu has been threatening Himachal many times in the past, but such a threat cannot be taken lightly during ICC’s world-class event.
The SIT formed to investigate the case includes DSP Headquarters RP Jaswal, DSP Sadar Surendra Kumar, Sub Inspector Yogesh, Head Constables Raman and Azad, Constables Goldie Rana and Surendra.
The police viewed the footage of the CCTV installed outside the Tourism Department office, in which two suspects were seen coming on foot from Kotwali market. Since the time was around 7.30 in the evening, the colour of the clothes worn by the suspects could not be ascertained.
Pannu said that “SFJ Zindabad raids have been conducted in Dharamshala. Himachal will also become Khalistan. We have reached Himachal.” In the video, he was seen threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Pannu called the final match of the World Cup to be held on November 19 in Ahmedabad as the World Terror Cup.
