An important question continues to arise about the simultaneous Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the state of Haryana and in this context, all political parties are on
their toes to boost their position. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has already given hint regarding this during a public meeting held in Sirsa and said that the BJP led state government is entirely prepared for the same in the state. He further said that during its 9-year rule in the state, the BJP has done everything for the betterment of common people, belonging to all sections of society and this, no doubt, is going to help the saffron party in the coming polls. It is worth mentioning that no simultaneous polls in the state were held at least in more than two decades and that Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held separately within a gap of five to six months in Haryana in 2009, 2014 and 2019. Holding two elections would force the government to bear the double cost. Apart from this,
the entire official machinery will have to be made busy for more than six months on this job. Besides the CM, several other BJP bigwigs have already aired their nod for the simultaneous polls in the state. On the other hand, the state government has completed all the formalities for the same. Earlier, the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) stalwart and deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala opined that holding two elections within a span of a few months separately will put extra financial burden on the exchequer of the state as well as Central government along with putting extra pressure on manpower and machinery.
