Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, extended his support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s yet-to-be-announced decision, emphasizing that decisions taken by the Prime Minister are always made in the best interest of the nation.
His remarks come amidst growing speculation that the women’s reservation bill may soon find its way into the corridors of Parliament.
Speaking to reporters at his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai, Shinde stated, “Whatever decision the Prime Minister takes, it is in the interest of the country. We will welcome the decision once it is taken officially. Let it happen first.” In addition to his remarks on the impending decision, the Chief Minister highlighted his government’s commitment to supporting farmers. Shinde revealed, “Farmers who have suffered losses due to natural calamities have received assistance beyond what is prescribed by government regulations. We have, on occasion, gone as far as modifying or bending the rules to provide financial aid to farmers.”
He elaborated further on the measures taken to aid the agricultural community, saying, “In the past, assistance was limited to farmers owning less than two hectares of land. We have now increased this limit to three hectares.”
