Shah expressed his gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their overwhelming support in the 2024 Assembly elections, where the BJP achieved its highest-ever percentage of votes and seats in the region.
In a message shared on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Shah thanked the electorate and praised the efforts of the BJP workers. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have blessed the BJP with the highest percentage of votes in this assembly election and have given the BJP the highest number of seats in its history so far. For this, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah wrote.
He also commended the relentless work of the party’s supporters, saying, “I congratulate all the workers of @BJP4JnK for their tireless hard work.”
Shah reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to ensuring development and security in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the party’s goal of eradicating terrorism from the region. “Under the leadership of Modiji, BJP is committed to the development and security of Jammu and Kashmir. Making Jammu and Kashmir terror-free and developing it like other parts of the country is the top priority of BJP,” the post on X further stated.
The 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections marked a significant milestone, with the BJP securing an unprecedented level of support in the region, highlighting a shift in the political landscape since the abrogation of Article 370.
