Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD), chaired a crucial meeting to assess the progress of the Jammu Airport expansion project. The meeting addressed various aspects, including the status of ongoing works and potential challenges.

Officials from the Airport Authorities provided updates on the current status of the expansion project, highlighting completed work and outlining pending tasks such as structure removals, land possession, and other related issues.

Expressing urgency, Secretary Aijaz Asad directed the concerned officers to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate the project’s pace to ensure timely completion. In a move to expedite the process, he specifically instructed the Animal Husbandry Department to promptly relocate cattle from Belicharana to a new farm at Chattha. Simultaneously, the poultry was directed to be shifted within a fixed timeframe to avoid unnecessary delays.
Aijaz Asad emphasized the removal of all illegal structures within 100 meters of the Airport Boundary and the swift disbursement of compensation against residential buildings affected by the expansion.

He urged all stakeholders to promptly report any bottlenecks and hurdles to his office for swift resolution, underscoring the collaborative effort required for the successful execution of this prestigious project. The Project Head provided an overview of the progress, including mobilization, soil testing surveys, and engineering drawings. The project is strategically divided into two segments, executed in parallel, to meet deadlines efficiently. Senior officials of civil administration, Police and other officers from the Civil Aviation Department was also present in the meeting.
