Reports indicate that Telegram is experiencing its second outage within a 24-hour period. The messaging platform has been inaccessible in India and various other regions, prompting users to encounter numerous difficulties.

According to information from Downdetector, individuals nationwide have noted experiencing disruptions in service. Users in Indian urban centers such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Nagpur, Patna, Lucknow, and others have reported encountering problems with the messaging application.

According to the outage detector website, nearly half of the users, accounting for 49%, encountered difficulties sending messages on the WhatsApp alternative. Additionally, 31% reported issues with the app not functioning properly, while another 21% faced challenges logging into the cross-platform mobile messaging application, accessible on iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones, and tablets. This platform enables users to exchange messages, photos, engage in secure conversations, and share other information, serving as an alternative to traditional text messages or SMS.

Numerous users also utilized the social media platform X (previously Twitter) to share memes regarding the messaging app outage. Below are a few examples of the posts:

Another report from Bleeping Computer stated that Telegram users are encountering a “Connecting” notification when attempting to access messages, groups, or channels through the platform’s desktop client. This alert, commonly associated with sluggish internet connections, is impeding users from accessing their messages. Reports indicate that this outage has impacted users in various regions worldwide, including parts of Asia and Europe. As of now, Telegram has not issued an official statement regarding the outage. It is anticipated that the company will clarify whether this disruption is due to planned maintenance or if there are issues with their servers.
