The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in response to former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain’s bail plea in a money laundering case.
The court has granted Jain the liberty to approach the vacation bench of the Supreme Court to challenge the Delhi High Court’s order rejecting his bail plea. Earlier, on 15 May, Jain had moved the Supreme Court seeking bail in the same case.
The Delhi High Court had dismissed his bail plea on 6 April, citing his influence and potential to tamper with evidence. The ED’s case is based on a complaint filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleging that Jain had acquired unaccounted movable properties between 14 February, 2015, and 31 May, 2017.
