In a significant move ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh held a crucial meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday at the latter’s official residence in Chandigarh.

Accompanied by his wife, Singh’s visit was primarily to extend congratulations to Mann on the birth of his newborn daughter. The warmth of the occasion was palpable as Mann and his wife Gurpreet Kaur warmly received Singh and his wife.

With AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal currently under arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case, Singh and Mann have taken on the significant responsibility of steering the party’s election campaign in Punjab.

“Singh’s agenda includes a visit to Punjab today, particularly to meet Chief Minister Mann at his residence. Notably, Mann, who recently welcomed a baby girl, will also be greeted by Singh during the visit,” an insider from AAP disclosed.

The duo is expected to convene a crucial meeting with AAP MLAs to strategise for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, slated for June 1, encompassing Punjab’s 13 parliamentary seats.

AAP has already declared its candidates on most of the 13 seats in Punjab. It also received a setback as it’s MP and Jalandhar candidate Sushil Rinku left AAP and joined BJP a few days ago.
