Shravan is considered an auspicious month dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds great religious significance for devotees. Fasting during this period is believed to cleanse the mind and body, allowing individuals to focus on their spiritual journey and attain inner peace. During this period, many individuals observe fasts and refrain from consuming certain types of food as a way to show devotion and respect for their beliefs. From a scientific perspective, mindful fasting during Shravan can have numerous benefits for the body and mind. By eliminating or reducing heavy and processed foods, the digestive system gets a much-needed break, allowing it to rest and heal. Fasting can lead to improved insulin sensitivity, weight management, and a potential reduction in the risk of certain chronic diseases.

Here is a list of food that one can opt for during the Shravan period:

Singhara (Water Chestnut)

Rajgira (Amaranth)
