Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has officially begun her tenure as a Member of Parliament. Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed confidence that she will address critical issues concerning women and youth in Parliament. “She has won the Lok Sabha by-poll with a historic margin. Not only will she be a formidable MP for Wayanad and Kerala, but she will also focus on matters related to women and youth. Her presence will strengthen both the party and the youth of the country. We are thrilled to have her in Parliament today, and I wish her all the best,” Pilot stated in an interview.

Priyanka’s entry into Parliament brings “new energy and new power”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also commented on Priyanka’s entry into Parliament, noting that it brings “new energy and new power” to the party. “She has a strong understanding of issues and is committed to raising public concerns, particularly those affecting women. This will be beneficial for our party and for the women of the country,” Kharge remarked.

Earlier today, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took her oath as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, donning a traditional Kerala Kasavu saree and holding a copy of the Constitution. She won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat with a significant lead of 4,10,931 votes, defeating Sathyan Mokeri of the Communist Party of India (CPI). The election in Wayanad, a Congress bastion, was a triangular contest involving Priyanka, BJP’s Navya Haridas, and CPI’s Sathyan Mokeri. The seat was previously held by her brother Rahul Gandhi, who vacated it to represent Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh after being elected during this year’s general elections.
