According to CNN, a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s St Petersburg has been doused, according to the Russian Emergency Ministry on Telegram, after dozens of firefighters were called to the area.

Social media videos from the area showed a big cloud of black smoke rising as explosions sounded out. The fire was first reported at 10:59 a.m. local time, according to Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations. According to the ministry, a hangar measuring 80 by 10 meters (262 by 33 feet) was reported to be on fire.

According to CNN, over 100 individuals were involved in the effort to put out the fire, which scorched an area of approximately 800 square meters (8,600 square feet).
According to the Russian online news outlet Fontanka, the fire was at the Ruchi oil facility.

The reason of the incident is unknown at this time. So far, no fatalities have been reported. Russian infrastructure, such as oil depots, has already been targeted as part of the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
