The US dollar’s strength in the international market and a downturn in domestic equities caused the rupee to lose 13 paisas to conclude the day at 82.38 (provisional) against the greenback on Wednesday.
The local unit started the day at 82.29 versus the dollar at the interbank foreign exchange, which was also the intraday high, and finished the day at 82.38 (provisional), down 13 paise from its previous close. The rupee’s value versus the dollar fell as low as 82.45 during the day.
