Rohit Kansal, Central Prabhari Officer and Union Additional Secretary, Ministry for Textiles, undertook a visit to Panchayat Suryachak in Mandal block as part of the extensive public outreach program, “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.”

The event saw the presence of Secretary Planning Aijaz Asad, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, ADDC Sher Singh, ACD Preeti Sharma, along with other distinguished officers, eminent citizens, and public representatives.

Rohit Kansal underscored the significance of the yatra, describing it as a pioneering initiative to raise awareness about various welfare schemes and encourage citizens to actively participate in the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari” (public participation) to ensure the complete implementation of government schemes. The initiative, considered the largest-ever outreach program by the Government of India, aims to make essential services accessible to all targeted and eligible beneficiaries, facilitating the last-mile delivery of governance.

Highlighting the positive impact of government schemes on the lives of citizens over the past decade, Kansal cited the success stories of initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan, PMAY, Ujjwala, Ujala, Laadli Beti, and more. He proudly noted Jammu and Kashmir’s commendable achievement in achieving universal health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, setting it apart from the rest of the nation.

Rohit Kansal shed light on the transformative outcomes of various historic schemes, emphasizing the direct transfer of financial assistance to farmers’ bank accounts. The primary objective of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to create awareness nationwide and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries avail the benefits of government schemes. Recent reports indicate that 24.8 crore people have risen above the poverty line, primarily due to initiatives like free ration and pension schemes.

Referring to the ‘Amrit Kaal,’ the period until India’s centenary of Independence in 2047, Kansal stressed ongoing efforts to transform the country into a developed nation, emphasizing the indispensable role of public participation in this transformative journey.
Encouraging individuals to contribute to national development by fulfilling their duties diligently, protecting public amenities, and adopting sustainable practices, Kansal highlighted the crucial role of every citizen in building a progressive nation.

During the visit, Kansal inspected departmental stalls that aimed to raise awareness about various government schemes, providing the public with an opportunity to engage with representatives from different departments and gain valuable knowledge about a diverse range of government initiatives.

The event also featured the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” segment, where beneficiaries shared their positive experiences under government schemes, emphasizing success stories in health, housing, education, and agriculture.
