Ravinder Kumar, the Administrative Secretary of Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh, took the lead in a strategic planning meeting to prepare for the upcoming National Winter Games (Ice). The meeting was held at the Civil Secretariat in Leh and marked a significant step forward for sports and winter sports enthusiasts.
During the meeting, Ravinder Kumar reaffirmed the commitment of the UT Ladakh Administration to ensure the success of the National Winter Games. He stressed the importance of promoting winter sports and Ladakh’s potential in establishing itself as a key player in the world of sports and tourism.
The meeting, presided over by the Administrative Secretary, was the culmination of meticulous planning and strategic discussions. It provided a platform for key stakeholders to collaborate and ensure the seamless execution of this prestigious sporting event. The main focus of the gathering was to outline a comprehensive action plan covering all aspects of the National Winter Games (Ice), including logistics, transportation, accommodation, branding, infrastructure, security, and player well-being.
Moses Kunzang, the Joint Director of Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh, emphasized the significance of initiatives aimed at enhancing the winter sports landscape in the region. He stressed the need to establish specialized committees responsible for various aspects of winter sports. These committees will play a vital role in coordinating and implementing programs, ensuring the highest standards of safety, training, and event management. Kunzang also announced the UT Ladakh administration’s commitment to investing in state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, providing enhanced facilities for athletes, and developing comprehensive training programs for winter sports enthusiasts.
The meeting was attended by key individuals, including the Joint Director of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Ladakh; Superintending Engineer of PDD Leh, UT Ladakh; Executive Engineer of R&B Division, PWD Leh; Executive Engineer of Construction Division, PWD Leh; Officer on Special Duty to the Secretary; District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Leh; Representatives from Ladakh Ice Hockey Association, Ladakh Curling Association, and Ladakh Ice Skating Association
