Former coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri, has pointed out that some young batters have impressed him during the ongoing IPL edition, and they are replete with talent and may be part of the Men’s Cricket World Cup to be held later this year.

Currently, there are many promising contenders who can match Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others. Shastri believes that the next crop of batters is ready to be gradually groomed and replaced.

Young southpaw Yashasvi Jaiswal has been performing splendidly and has amassed a total of 575 runs for the Rajasthan Royals, with a century and four fifties behind his name. Another emerging talent, Rinku Singh, is not far behind, scoring 407 runs in 13 matches, three times crossing the 50-run mark. His heroic knock against GT was eye-catching for the cricket pundits.

Shastri went on to say that Jaiswal and Rinku have the flair to be given the national cap in the future. Jaiswal made a lot of improvements in his batting this year. It seems youngsters are looking to sort out their weaknesses and improve their performance, Shastri said.

He believes the bowling setup of India is perfect ahead of this year’s World Cup, and there are several players who are waiting for their national call. However, it depends on their form closer to the World Cup. If any regular members get injured, then these youngsters are ready to be replaced.
