The political turmoil has erupted over the statement by Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Govind Singh Dotasra regarding the “arrogant Ravana” comment made by opposition leader Rajendra Rathore. Speaking at the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra, Rathore had referred to Dotasra as “arrogant Ravana.”
In response, Dotasra said, “Ravana was also a scholar; do you accept that? Ravana was a scholarly Brahmin.” Dotasra further criticized Rathore, saying, “He is inconsistent; sometimes he makes comments against Brahmins, sometimes against Jats, and at other times against people of other castes. They can do anything, but they are suffering. The opposition leader holds meetings only in Laxmangarh, and even there, only 3,000 people attend.”
Regarding Rathore’s comments about his family members becoming officers, the PCC President clarified that his son became an officer during the BJP government’s tenure, while his relatives ate the flour of Churu’s mill, as Churu is not their native place.
Dotasra continued, “I keep saying that Rajendra Rathore will not contest the elections from Churu. If he does, he will lose 100%. That’s why he resorts to personal attacks. If 500 people gather and say ‘Stop Rajendra Rathore,’ what will you do by stopping him? Churu will be won by the Congress. There is no unity among them; they are in chaos. The BJP is a party without leadership. They want to fight elections by projecting Modi’s face and sidelining constitutional institutions, but they will not succeed. Modi’s face will not win elections anymore. We have seen this in Punjab, Himachal, and four or five other states.”
Regarding the comment made by Congress MLA Gajendra Singh, Dotasra said, “Suryakanta Vyas is a senior legislator, 85 years old. God bless him with a long life. He might have felt hurt, but Gajendra Singh should be forgiven because he is fighting a leadership battle. He is making statements in frustration. Whether it’s Rajendra Rathore, Gajendra Singh, or other leaders, what is coming out of their mouths?”
