From October 9 to October 12, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will travel to Italy and France. He will meet with the Italian Defense Minister Guido Crisetto in Rome during the first leg of his two-nation trip, the Ministry of Defence announced on Sunday. During the visit of the Italian Prime Minister to India in March 2023, the alliance between India and Italy was upgraded to a Strategic Partnership. In Paris for the second and final leg, Sebastian Lecornu, the French Minister of Armed Forces, and Rajnath Singh will hold the 5th Annual Defence Dialogue.
India and France recently celebrated 25 years of Strategic Partnership. Both countries enjoy a deep and wide-ranging bilateral defence relationship, including significant industrial cooperation.
In both Rome and Paris, the minister will also interact with the defence industry CEOs and senior representatives to discuss potential opportunities for industrial cooperation.
