A significant uproar was witnessed in the resort on Sikar Road, where victorious BJP legislators were allegedly confined on Thursday. Five legislators were accommodated in this resort, out of which Lalit Meena, the legislator from Kishangarh, managed to somehow leave the place. Former State Vice President Hemraj Meena, who is the father of Lalit Meena told reporters, “I had gone to take him (Lalit Meena) from ‘Resort’…Dushyant Singh took him along. Kanwar Lal, an MLA tried to stop me, he asked me to first talk to Dushyant Singh and then take him (Lalit Meena). A total of five MLAs were there at the resort.”
Hemraj Meena claimed his son was called by another legislator, Kanwar Lal Meena, to the resort for a meeting and was not allowed to leave. Lalit Meena then informed his father about the situation.
“MP Dushyant had brought my son and the MLAs of Jhalawar-Baran to Jaipur. When Lalit did not return home in the evening, I talked to him. He said that I am in a resort on Sikar Road and the people were not letting him return,” he added.
He further said, “Five MLAs including Lalit Meena were stopped at “Resort” on Sikar Road. When I got the information, I went there and brought them out.”
“There were MLAs from Jhalawar and Baran, there were 2 MLAs from Jhalawar and 3 MLAs from Baran including my son Lalit Meena. A day before yesterday, Dushyant Singh had brought him to meet Vasundhara ji and made him stay in the resort. I also told the state in-charge Arun Singh and also told the organisation general secretary Chandrashekhar and then the president (CP Joshi) also reached there and Bhajanlal Sharma (MLA) also reached there,” he added.
When contacted, Lalit Meena refused to divulge details. He said, “Whatever happened that night, I informed the party leaders. The party is my family and it is our family matter.”
Meanwhile, the BJP’s Rajasthan unit president CP Joshi said, “There is no ‘badabandi’. The MLAs are in their constituencies,” he said, adding that any decision on who will the chief minister will be taken after the legislature party meeting.Singh
According to Hemraj Meena, the incident of confining the legislators was done at the behest of Dushyant Singh, the son of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Hemraj Meena provided complete information about the incident to the state party in-charge Arun Singh, state president C.P. Joshi, and party general secretary Chandrashekhar. State president C.P. Joshi accepted that Hemraj Meena had informed him about the resort-related matter. Hemraj Meena said that when he was returning home with his son Lalit, Kanwar Lal Meena, a BJP legislator, attempted to stop them, leading to a scuffle.
Senior Leaders Reach the Resort:
Hemraj stated that as soon as information about the resort reached to the other party members, C.P. Joshi, legislator Bhajan Lal Sharma, and state vice-president Shravan Singh Bagdi reached the spot. Hemraj said that when he was returning with Lalit from the resort, someone pelted stones at their car, breaking the car’s windshield. Hemraj stated that two days ago, MP Dushyant Singh had arranged a meeting between my son Lalit Meena and Vasundhara Raje. Dushyant Singh brought these five legislators to this resort. On the other hand, Kanwar Lal Meena denied Hemraj Meena’s allegations, calling them baseless.
BJP sources said that the party considers it seriously that the loyalty of some newly elected legislators is towards a particular individual. The party has made it clear to all legislators that their loyalty should be only towards the party. If anyone acts against the interests of the party, strict action can be taken against them.
Discussion on hoardings outside Vasundhara Raje’s house:
Two hoardings praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for achieving a massive victory for the BJP in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh were put up in front of the government residence in Civil Lines, where former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje resides. The hoardings on the left side depict the symbol of the lotus and on the right side, ‘Modi’s Guarantee’ is written. The way Vasundhara Raje’s name is written as the presenter under the poster has become a topic of discussion in the political atmosphere. People are questioning the need for Vasundhara Raje to put up such a poster. Similar posters and hoardings are placed in many places in Jaipur, but they mention the name of the Bharatiya Janata Party as the presenter.
