The inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is soon approaching. Rajasthan has played a significant role in the construction of the Ram Temple. On one hand, the first aarti and havan for Ram Lalla were performed with 600 kilograms of ghee brought from Jodhpur, while on the other hand, the throne made of marble from Makrana, Nagaur, for Lord Rama is ready.
The consecration ceremony of the deity in the temple is scheduled for January 22. The idol of Ram Lalla will be enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. The white marble slabs for the seat on which the deity will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum have been prepared in Makrana.
These octagonal slabs will now be sent to Ayodhya. Earlier on Monday, it was placed for public viewing in the city, and during this time, a large number of residents witnessed it. After the installation in the sanctum sanctorum, no devotee will be allowed to approach this slab.
Hukamaram Choudhary, the director of Rana Marble in Makrana, stated that they were instructed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to create the slabs for this seat according to the drawings provided. They have crafted the seat from white marble as per the given specifications, and by Wednesday, they are sending this seat to Ayodhya.
He mentioned that white marble from Makrana has been extensively used in the construction of the Ram Temple. Apart from the flooring, intricate carving work has been done in the sanctum sanctorum. The pillars of the temple are also made of Makrana marble. The golden-plated throne is yet to be placed on the seat in Ayodhya.
The construction of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple used 13,300 cubic feet of intricately carved marble, while 95,300 square feet of marble were used for the flooring and cladding. Hukamaram and Dharmaram Choudhary have personally worked on the white marble flooring and inlay work for its strength, using 35 mm thick slabs.
The sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple is fully ready. The sanctum with six special pillars has been artistically decorated by different sculptors. The other parts of the ground floor are made of red stones from Banshi Pahadpur (Bharatpur), while the separate sanctum is entirely made of Makrana marble.
The intricately carved sanctum is octagonal. The size, stone, and lighting of the sanctum were decided based on the advice of experts before ensuring a divine experience for devotees visiting the darshan of Ram Lalla.
