The series of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election battles continues. Today, we discuss the constituencies of Adarsh Nagar, Kishanpole, Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Jhotwara.
Adarsh Nagar Legislative Assembly Seat: Congress has once again given the ticket to MLA Rafiq Khan for this seat, while BJP has fielded Ravi Nayyar. The Adarsh Nagar constituency in Jaipur district is widely discussed. BJP had won this seat consecutively twice, but they missed the hat-trick. The Congress candidate had defeated Ashok Parnami, a two-time BJP MLA from here. The Adarsh Nagar seat is crucial in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections. BJP’s Ashok Parnami had secured victories here twice, but the Congress candidate denied him a hat-trick. This time, BJP has fielded Ashok Parnami again, and Ravi Nayyar has been given the ticket. There is opposition to Rafiq Khan, especially among Muslim voters, as Congress leader Umar Daraj has joined the Aam Aadmi Party. In this scenario, winning won’t be easy for Rafiq Khan, but the BJP also needs to put up a strong fight.
Kishanpole Legislative Assembly Seat: Congress holds this seat, and for the Muslim-majority Kishanpole constituency, Congress has once again nominated MLA Ameen Kagzi. BJP has declared Chandramohan Bhatwara, associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), as their candidate for the Kishanpole seat. Although this seat is considered a Muslim-majority area, Bhatwara faces several challenges, from aligning with former leaders to securing a victory. However, Ameen Kagzi also faces formidable challenges. Former Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, who switched from Congress to BJP, has intensified the Congress challenge on this seat. Congress has a good chance of winning this seat.
Vidhyadhar Nagar Legislative Assembly Seat: This seat remains a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP has won continuously three times from here. After the delimitation in 2008, Narpat Singh Rajvi, son-in-law of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, secured three consecutive victories. He has been given a ticket from Chittorgarh this time. Congress has fielded Diya Kumari, the MP from Rajsamand, on this seat. Congress has again chosen Sitararam Agarwal for this seat, who lost to BJP candidate Narpat Singh Rajvi in the last election. The competition between Congress and BJP is tough, and Diya Kumari’s appeal beyond the Rajput community may garner votes for BJP. While the BJP has worked hard and could win the seat, Congress is also a strong contender. Sitararam Agarwal has worked diligently for five years, and there is fear of internal conflict within the BJP.
Jhotwara Legislative Assembly Seat: The Jhotwara constituency, coming under Jaipur Rural district, has become a high-profile seat. Congress holds this seat, and BJP has fielded former Union Minister and Lok Sabha MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore against Congress student leader Abhishek Choudhary. Abhishek is a new face who demanded a ticket from Lohawat, but Congress gave him a ticket from Jhotwara. Lalchand Kataria refused to contest the election. Congress and BJP are in a tough competition for the Jhotwara seat, but BJP could win this seat.
