On Wednesday, the Rajasthan Congress has suffered a big setback. During the election campaign, Congress was advertising its 7 guarantees. However, according to the guidelines of the Election Department, this matter has been declared a violation of the code of conduct. Due to this, the Rajasthan Election Department has banned the advertisement of 7 guarantees issued by Congress. The Congress party was promoting guarantees to the common people through voice calls. The Commission has banned the advertisement for registration through these guarantees, considering it a violation of the Election Code of Conduct. Along with this, the department in its notice has mentioned releasing the advertisement without getting it approved by the State Level Advertisement Certification Committee. Explanation has also been sought for disregarding the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct by airing advertisements without authentication. The Commission had received a complaint of a violation of the model code of conduct by the advertisement of missed calls through the C Vigil app.
Rajasthan High Court advocates Surya Pratap Singh Rajawat and Chandan Ahuja had lodged an objection before the Election Commission regarding the violation of the Model Code of Conduct by the missed call advertisement issued by the Congress Party. Both the advocates had submitted their objections to Rajasthan Election Commission CEO Praveen Gupta by presenting documents related to the violation of the model code of conduct by missed call advertisement. After that, this order has been issued.
On behalf of advocate Surya Pratap Singh Rajawat, objections were lodged before CEO Praveen Gupta against the advertisement of seven guarantees in the election advertisement of the Congress Party. It was told that this advertisement falls in the category of surrogate advertisement. The Election Department issued instructions to stop it. Election Department Officer Suresh Chandra has written in the order issued to the President and General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
Transmission of audio message stopped with immediate effect
The Election Commission has ordered to stop the telecast of the audio message with immediate effect. They also asked to give an explanation for disregarding the Model Code of Conduct provisions.
\After this notice, advocate Surya Pratap Singh Rajawat demanded from the Election Commission Rajasthan that the phones and equipment used for recording voice messages should also be confiscated.
Also, orders should be passed not to mention the number 8587070707 in Congress advertisements.
