The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious with a decisive majority in the recently concluded elections. While the party basks in its triumph, the anticipation for the selection of the next chief minister adds an element of intrigue to the political landscape.
In the aftermath of the elections, discussions and deliberations regarding the chief ministerial candidate are actively taking place within the state. In this situation, some MLAs are meeting the state president of the BJP, CP Joshi, while many MLAs have met former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at her residence in the last two days.
Despite the ongoing suspense over the selection of the Chief Minister, a significant development is taking shape as certain MLAs engage in discussions with key figures within the party. Notably, these MLAs are holding meetings with the state president of the BJP, CP Joshi, and the former Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje.
A particular focal point of these discussions is centred around the prospect of Vasundhara Raje assuming the role of Chief Minister. MLAs visiting Raje’s residence in the Civil Lines area are openly expressing their preference for her leadership. Interestingly, amid these expressions of support for Raje, there is a consistent acknowledgement that the final decision rests with the high command of the party.
On the other hand, the name of BJP’s senior leader Omprakash Mathur is also coming up in the race for Chief Minister. In this regard, several MLAs are also meeting with Mathur. In the past days, when he was on a Jaipur tour, MLAs reached his residence along with the party’s senior leaders to have a meeting. According to sources, several MLAs are in constant contact with Mathur.
