The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav 2024’ program was organised at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Rajasthan was honoured with the ‘One District One Product’ award at the ceremony. Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Industries and Commerce Department, has received this award.
The program was organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, working under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, on January 3 at the Bharat Mandapam. This award was given by Union Foreign Minister Dr. S. Presented by Jaishankar and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
RK Ameria, Additional Commissioner of the Industry and Commerce Department, said that Rajasthan has received the bronze award (second runner-up) in the award distribution ceremony. He said that as per the vision and concept of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, One District One Product Scheme is being run to promote Vocal for Local.
This is a unique initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Under this, an effort is made to identify a product from each district of the country and take it towards excellence, to advance it in the field of export and create employment.
Ameria informed that currently a total of 41 products from Rajasthan have been selected in the ODOP category. To promote ODOP products, awareness programmes, productivity and design-related workshops are organised by the Government of Rajasthan in various districts.
