“Opposition unity will come after when the different parties sit together and go through talks. Of course there are differences currently. But it will contest together against the BJP. All the anti-BJP parties will contest together,” Rahul Gandhi said after completing his
more than 3500 kilometres yatra. Earlier, the Congress MP Rahul unfurled the national
flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. When asked about how he feels about the promises
made by Jawaharlal Nehru, which could never be ful-filled, Gandhi said, “I am not happy with what I see in Jammu and Kashmir I made me sad while walk- ing through the city. When I first walked through Jammu, a strange idea came into my mind. My family descended from Jammu and Kashmir and went to Allahabad. And some way this was a strange journey. I felt in a way I was going home. That was a very powerful feeling I had.” He added, “I have affection towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I have come here with an open heart and open arms and
do everything I can. I was humbled with the reception I got. I think love and affection and listening is a very powerful force and I want to look forward. and I come herewith an open mind affection.” When asked about the impact of Yatra on Kashmir and national politics, the Wayanad MP said, “This yatra is not ours because in this yatra people of the country traveled more
than the party workers and leaders. The yatra has given one alternative vision.
