In the wake of the ongoing face-off between India and China along the LAC in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a vicious attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet held on Tuesday. His tough stance gave a clear hint to the party leaders that things would not remain the same during his almost certain second stint as party president. Rahul Gandhi was so angry at the “soft approach” taken by the Congress leaders on PM Modi and the LAC issue that he even threatened to quit the CWC if no other leader spoke clearly on the matter.

In his tirade against PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi accused him of betraying the country, the Army and mishandling this entire pandemic. He called the PM “Surrender Modi” and accused him of surrendering territories to China. When R.P.N. Singh suggested the criticism against the Prime Minister should be measured, Rahul Gandhi reiterated that apart from him, nobody in the Congress speaks against Modi.

Rajya Sabha member Rajiv Satav echoed Rahul Gandhi’s remark which drew a sharp reaction from former Union minister Anand Sharma who pointed out that senior leaders have been vocal against PM Modi and his policies both inside and outside Parliament.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her support to Rahul Gandhi and responded that nobody except him speaks against PM Modi.
