During his tour in the United States, Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Modi has been “psychologically trapped” since the unexpected results of the 2024 general elections. Gandhi, currently addressing members of the Overseas Congress in the U.S., suggested that the election results have left a significant impact on Modi’s mentality.

Congress fought the elections despite frozen accounts

Gandhi revealed that the Congress party had to face the elections with its financial resources blocked, yet it still managed to challenge Modi’s vision of India. Speaking about the elections, he said, “At a point in the elections, we sat with our treasurer, and he said, ‘Look, the bank accounts are frozen.’ Despite this, the Congress fought and dismantled Modi’s idea of India.”

PM Modi is unable to process the results

According to Gandhi, Modi has struggled to accept the outcome of the election. He explained, “When you see the prime minister now in Parliament, he is psychologically trapped and cannot come to terms with how the results unfolded.”

A bold statement: Modi’s claim to communicate with God

In a more direct criticism, Gandhi recalled a moment during the campaign when Modi stated he could communicate directly with God. Gandhi said, “When Modi claimed that, we knew we had blown him apart. It was a sign of psychological collapse.”

Cracks in Modi’s confidence during the campaign

Gandhi pointed out that during the election, Modi’s confidence began to falter, especially as he anticipated a bigger victory. “Modi, who was used to running Gujarat without much adversity, suddenly faced a situation where his invincibility was cracking,” said the Congress leader.

Opposition’s INDIA bloc weakened Modi’s power

Rahul Gandhi credited the opposition’s INDIA bloc with playing a major role in reducing Modi’s political dominance. He concluded by noting that although the BJP won 240 Lok Sabha seats, it fell short of securing a simple majority, marking a significant shift in the political landscape.

This speech marks yet another in a series of strong criticisms from Gandhi towards Modi, signaling the intensity of the ongoing political battle.
