A Punjab woman named Payal, 42, has won $1 million after purchasing a Dubai Duty-Free (DDF) raffle ticket using her husband’s anniversary cash gift. Payal, who has been participating in the DDF Millennium Millionaire promotion for the past 12 years, alternates the ticket names between her husband and children.

On April 10, Payal bought a raffle ticket online for the first time, deviating from her usual practice of purchasing at the airport. This decision led to her becoming the 229th Indian winner of the DDF Millennium Millionaire promotion, with her winning ticket number 3337 in series 461.

Upon hearing the news from DDF organizers, Payal expressed her disbelief and joy. She plans to use the prize money to secure her children’s future and assist her brother in Australia. Additionally, she intends to contribute to charity work within her Punjabi community.

Payal shared her excitement with Khaleej Times, saying, “It was a gift that kept on giving—the cash gift from my husband made us millionaires. Thank you, Dubai Duty-Free, for fulfilling my dream.”

Earlier, on April 10, a 48-year-old English woman won $1 million in the series 460 draw. Other recent winners include an Emirati who won a Mercedes Benz SL55, a Saudi Arabian resident who won a Range Rover Sport Dynamic HSE P400, and an Indian-origin man who won an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory motorbike.
