The Punjab Police have sought the issuance of a red corner notice (RCN) against absconder gangster Goldy Brar in connection with the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder of Moosewala at the behest of Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious criminal currently lodged at Delhi’s Tihar jail.
With gangster Goldy Brar claiming the responsibility of killing Sidhu Moosewala, the Punjab Police is not leaving any stone unturned to extradite the gangster. The Punjab Police has sent a proposal to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to issue the red corner notice against gangster Goldy Brar as the CBI is the official nodal agency to liaison with the Interpol. Interpol finally issues the red corner notice.
Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, a day after the state government pruned his security cover along with that of over 400 VVIPs others. The state police had termed the incident a case of an inter-gang rivalry and had said the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind it. Canada-based Goldy Brar, had claimed the responsibility of the murder. This murder was in “retaliation of youth Akali leader Vicky Middukhera’s murder that took place last year”.
Punjab Police has also sought issuance of red corner notice against gangster-turned-terrorist Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda of village Rattoke, Tarn Taran, which has been sent to the CBI on May 5. Rinda, who is responsible for inducting and operationalising many terrorist modules in Punjab in recent past, is now based in Pakistan.
Rinda, backed by Pak ISI, has also been responsible for smuggling in huge quantity of arms and ammunition in India. Huge cache of arms and ammunition and IEDs recovered from four terrorists arrested in Karnal in a joint operation with Punjab police, also belonged to Rinda. Most recently, he was responsible for a grenade attack on Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali.
