Four members of the notorious Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang were taken into custody in Bathinda, as reported by local law enforcement on Sunday.
The arrests were made possible by the joint efforts of the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the Bathinda Police. The authorities also recovered 270 grams of heroin and a firearm during the operation. Senior Superintendent of Bathinda Police, Gulneet Khurana, confirmed the arrests and seizure.
The accused are believed to have used a drone to transport drugs from Pakistan, according to the police investigation. This disclosure follows a series of successful operations by the AGTF and Bathinda Police, including the recent arrest of Baljinder Singh, also known as Bindri, another gang associate, and his three accomplices.
These crackdowns represent significant progress in disrupting trans-border illegal arms and narcotics networks. Director General of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, affirmed the extensive criminal history of the arrested, including involvement in extortion, kidnapping, and violations of the arms and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During the operations, one Chinese pistol, five live cartridges, 270 grams of heroin, and a car were seized. Yadav stated that the Punjab Police remains fully committed to dismantling narcotics and illegal arms networks, in line with directives from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
