Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit will soon meet sarpanches and prominent personalities of villages along the Pakistan border. Amidst the increasing activities of sending drones and drugs from Pakistan, this visit of the Governor is considered very important from the point of view of security. Punjab Raj Bhavan has sent complete details to the state government regarding this two-day visit of the governor. The tour will start from 1 February. During this, the Governor will meet sarpanches and prominent personalities of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka. On 2 February, the governor will also meet police officers of the central security agencies and the state government at Ferozepur. This meeting will last for about an hour. It is being told that the increasing incidents of drones, drugs and arms supply from Pakistan will be discussed in this meeting. Drone infiltration from Pakistan side is continuously increasing, which is also a matter of concern for the central government. Expressing concern over this increasing infiltration, the Union Home Ministry and Defense Ministry have also indicated to strengthen the anti-drone system on the border. It is being told that the Governor will meet Sarpanches and prominent personalities to know the ground reality so that the activities from Pakistan’s side can be tightened. Governor will reach Pathankot on 1 February, will have first meeting with sarpanches. During the tour starting from 1 February, at around 10.25 am, the Governor will reach AB college of Pathankot by helicopter from Rajindra Park in Chandigarh.
