A massive step was taken by the Punjab government, the illegal occupation of 2828 acres of land near the farmhouse of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, that is, Siswan village in Shivalik foothills was removed. CM Bhagwant Mann was present along with Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal to expose the names of alleged fraudsters who acquired land illegally. After releasing the possession, the CM informed the press that this land was occupied by 15 corrupt people. In this, Iman Singh Mann, son of MP Simranjit Singh Mann from Sangrur, occupied 125 acres of land. Also, Simranjit Mann’s son-in-law and daughter’s name too came afore in acquiring land illegally. Apart from this, Harmanbir Singh, son of former minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar, who is close to the Captain, occupied the Panchayat land.After the visit of the CM, the gates of the illegal occupiers were closed and replaced with government property boards. It is written on these boards that this land is government land, whoever tries to occupy it illegally, strict legal action will be taken against him. A campaign has been launched to get rid of illegal occupation. The land released has 250 acres of plain area. One of the illegal squatters was occupying 1100 acres of land. This land was occupied by Fauja Singh, who runs a private company. The CM said that despite losing the case in court, these people were not leaving the occupation.
