Chandigarh: The budget for year 2021-22 will now be presented in the Punjab Legislative Assembly on 8 March. It was earlier scheduled to be presented on 5 March. This change has happened as per the decision taken during the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly.
The report related to the committee’s meeting was laid on Wednesday by Speaker Rana KP Singh in the House. According to the changed schedule, the budget would now be presented on March 8, instead of 5 and the debate on it would be on March 9 and 10. The debate would conclude on March 10 and the budget will be passed.
Then the House would adjourn sine die after the Legislative Business. Meanwhile, the debate on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address would end on March 5 with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s reply. CAG reports would also be presented on this day.
