In Punjab, there are 5209 voters aged over 100 years, having witnessed the pre-independence era and the first voting process in 1952. Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C revealed that according to the Election Commission’s guidelines, voters above 85 years can cast their votes from their homes.

Sibin C mentioned that Punjab has 5004 voters aged between 100 and 119 years, with 205 voters aged over 120 years. According to figures released by the Election Commission, the majority of these 5209 voters are women, numbering 3111, while men total 2098.
As of March 1, 2024, there are 1917 male and 2928 female voters aged between 100 and 109 years, while 110 to 119-year-old voters comprise 59 men and 100 women. Thus, the total number of voters aged 100 to 119 years is 5004. Among the 205 voters aged over 120 years, there are 122 men and 83 women.

The Election Commission stated that the highest number of male and female voters aged over 120 years are in Ludhiana district, with 77 men and 34 women. Following Ludhiana, Firozpur has 24 men and 25 women in this age group.

According to the Election Commission, Punjab has a total of 4,891,631 voters aged 18-19 years as of March 1, 2024. This includes 16 transgender individuals. Among them, there are 2,931,100 male voters and 1,965,515 female voters. The number of male voters is approximately 100,000 more than female voters.

It is noteworthy that Punjab has a total of 21,271,246 voters, with 11,192,959 male voters and 11,775,543 female voters. This year, the Election Commission’s slogan is ‘70 Plus,’ aiming for a voter turnout of over 70%. In the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2019, the voter turnout was 65.96%.
