In a shocking turn of events, nearly ten days after a fatal Porsche crash claimed the lives of two young techies in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, allegations of evidence tampering and attempts to suppress the truth have surfaced, shedding light on a murky trail of deceit.

The Pune Police have made significant strides in the investigation, arresting two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital accused of destroying crucial evidence in the case. Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the hospital’s Forensic Medicine department, and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer, along with another staff member, have been apprehended for allegedly discarding and replacing the blood sample of the accused teenager involved in the crash. They have been remanded to police custody until May 30.

According to police statements, Dr. Halnor purportedly collected the minor’s blood samples, as authorities suspect the 17-year-old was intoxicated at the time of the accident, and disposed of them in a dustbin at Sassoon Hospital. Subsequently, Dr. Taware, in collusion with Dr. Halnor, orchestrated the substitution of the blood sample with that of another individual, falsely attributing it to the accused. This egregious act, as per police claims, was facilitated by a promise of a hefty bribe amounting to Rs 3 lakhs from the accused’s family.

The involvement of political figures has further muddied the waters, with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and members of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) facing scrutiny over allegations of attempted interference in the police investigation. Questions loom large as to the extent of their involvement in the unfolding saga.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the blatant attempt at a cover-up orchestrated by the accused teenager’s family. He revealed that in light of the case’s sensitivity, additional blood samples were procured and sent to another hospital for analysis. Discrepancies between the reports emerged, with DNA tests revealing manipulation in the blood sample handled by Sassoon Hospital.

As the investigation unfolds, the intricate web of deceit surrounding the Pune Porsche crash continues to unravel, exposing the lengths to which individuals purportedly went to conceal the truth. The pursuit of justice remains paramount as authorities navigate through the labyrinth of corruption and deception to ensure accountability for the lives lost in this tragic incident.
