Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), is slated to visit poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Thursday and will address a public meeting in Dhar district.
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala stated in a statement about Gandhi’s arrival that it would be a historic visit to the state.
“Priyanka Gandhi will have a historic visit to Dhar district. Madhya Pradesh is number one in atrocities against tribals, Dalits and women. It is number one in corruption in the country and not providing jobs to youths. Priyanka Gandhi is coming here to take a pledge with the people to uproot such a corrupt government which is against farmers, youths, tribals, Dalits and Backward Classes.”
They (Congress) are certain that the message transmitted from here would give the entire country and the Congressmen new vitality, freshness, and vigor. It will send a message to Madhya Pradesh’s 8.5 crore people that the Congress and Madhya Pradesh would stand together to construct a new state, he added.
Recently, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and unleashed a stinging attack on the BJP, claiming that its government was the “epicentre of corruption” and was not paying farmers the correct price for their crops.
