Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi arrived in Sikar, by helicopter on Friday to address the ERCP Jag Jagran Abhiyan. During the same event, Minister Mamta Bhupesh welcomed Priyanka Gandhi by offering her a yellow turban, and later, she visited Mehandipur Balaji.
While talking to the media as she left the temple, Priyanka said that she had been wanting to visit here for a long time. She found out today during the meeting that the temple is very close, so she came here. She felt good after having a glimpse of the deity. After that, she left for Sawai Madhopur.
While addressing the public at Sawai Madhopur, Priyanka launched a scathing attack on the policies of the central government and the BJP, saying that when the Congress government can implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), why is the BJP silent on this issue?
Priyanka Gandhi said, “I saw it on TV, don’t know if it’s true or not, some time ago, the Prime Minister went to the temple of Devnarayan Ji and brought an envelope. I saw on TV that six months later, the envelope was opened by the Prime Minister, people were wondering what would be in this envelope. Such a big leader of the country came and put an envelope. When it was opened after 6 months, 21 rupees came out of it. Similar things are happening in the country also. When you open those envelopes, when the election is over, and it’s time to work, nothing happens. The Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) was also given to you in the same way.”She also questioned why the BJP has not yet announced the CM face. She asked, “Will Modi become the CM of Rajasthan? BJP people say that our face will be Narendra Modi. People should ask them if he will come to be the CM of Rajasthan after leaving the position of Prime Minister. His motive is just to stay in power. Their policy is clear, extract from the poor and give to the industrialists.”
She also said that the Congress party is standing united in these critical times while the BJP is “broken.” She praised the state government and said that the Congress has leaders like Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot with such a long experience and the young and dynamic Sachin Pilot working for the progress of the state.
She targeted the central government on the MGNREGA issue saying, “MGNREGA has been reduced, new employment is not being provided. The central government has not worked to provide employment.” She added, “Inflation is so high that women will return empty-handed from the market. The companies from which you could get jobs, the central government has sold them to their industrialists.”
She praised the Gehlot-led government and said that the Gehlot government is overcoming difficulties that the centre government has posed in front of them.
CM Gehlot also launched an attack on the opposition and asked, “What will the lotus flower do?” Gehlot addressed the meeting and said, “We have given mobile phones to 40 lakh women. Under this scheme, one crore women will receive mobiles in the second phase. The legislative assembly elections are not just for Rajasthan; the future of the entire country will be determined by this. We will fight this election based on our government’s work. The BJP says that we don’t have a face; the lotus flower is the only face. What will a lotus flower do?”
Priyanka also asked people to make a careful choice at the time of voting and ensure that they voted for the right party, which looked after and worked for their welfare like the Congress party and did not deliver hollow promises without any intent to fulfil them.
The program was also addressed by Govind Singh Dotasra, Sachin Pilot, and Minister Mamta Bhupesh, and many Congress ministers and MLAs were also present. A large number of Congress workers were present to hear Priyanka during this time.
