"This is the victory of Telangana people," says Priyanka Gandhi after Congress' win in the state

Following the Congress’ historic victory in Telangana, Priyanka Gandhi praised the outcome and credited the people’s mandate. In a post on her official Twitter account, Priyanka Gandhi hailed the victory as a triumph for the people of Telangana and every Congress worker. The Congress leader expressed gratitude, saying, “The people of Telangana have created history and given the mandate in favour of the Congress Party.”

Party cadres celebrated comfortably crossing the halfway mark outside the Congress office in Hyderabad. “Bye-bye KCR” chants echoed the victory mood, signalling a significant shift in the political landscape.

Priyanka Gandhi extended her appreciation to the people of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, acknowledging the role assigned by the people to the Congress Party as the opposition. In a message shared on X, she proclaimed, “The people’s mandate is on the head.”

Congress workers, jubilant over the party’s single-largest status, poured milk on a poster featuring Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and state party chief Revanth Reddy. The Telangana election results carry substantial weight for the Congress as it approaches the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, establishing its presence in the South with victories in Karnataka and Telangana.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the people of Telangana, Priyanka Gandhi affirmed the Congress Party’s commitment to peace, prosperity, and progress in the state. The electoral upheaval marks the end of Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) decade-long rule in India’s youngest state, setting the stage for a new political era.
