In this digital age, we frequently hear about couples finding each other on Instagram. But did you know that Harry and Meghan, one of the most well-known royal couples, also met on Instagram?
Meghan Markle recently disclosed that she met Prince Harry on social media in a new documentary series that was made available on Netflix.
In the documentary series, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry discussed how their romance began in the summer of 2016.
“I was scrolling through my feed, and one of my friends and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them, like a Snapchat,” Harry said.
Then he said that he recalled saying, “Who is THAT?” after seeing a picture of Meghan with Snapchat’s dog filter.
Meghan went on to say that a friend had informed her that Prince Harry was interested in her. I asked, “Who’s that?” she remembered saying.
“I asked if I could see his feed. That, to me, was the best barometer. So I went through, and it was just like beautiful photography and all these environmental shots and this time he was spending in Africa,” added Meghan.
They decided to keep in touch after exchanging phone numbers at that point.
Following that, Meghan decided to take a trip to Europe with her pals but she had no intentions of dating anyone.
“(Meghan) had planned a single girl summer, and she had a lot of plans to go across Europe,” said Meghan’s friend Lucy Fraser, who also made an appearance in the docuseries.
Though destiny had other ideas, the rest is history.
The couple wed in a lavish ceremony in May 2018 at London’s St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, which was attended by both royals and famous people.
Harry and Megan moved to California at the beginning of 2020, the same time they resigned from their positions as senior royal family members. They made their exit official in February 2020.
The couple has two kids – Archie and Lillibet.
