Sanitise, sanitise, sanitise’, ‘mask-up’, ‘stay at home’ — these have become the mantras we have lived by this past year. Though the crisis of the second wave has fortunately waned, as per all trusted sources, a third wave is imminent — one that may prove more deadly than the last one, and be particularly difficult for children. Hence, the only prudent solution is to keep following Covid-protocol as far as possible.

Here are simple precautions to follow in between Covid-waves, to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy:

USE HAND SANITISER

Using a medical-grade sanitiser to keep your hands clean and germ-free is a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the drudgery of having to constantly use sanitiser both on ourselves and on surfaces that we regularly touch has made each of us wish for a device with the ability to keep us germ-free all day long. Since necessity is often the mother of invention, this product has finally been invented. ‘Just Human’, manufactured by SwanRose Inc., is a ground-breaking 24-Hour hand sanitiser that needs to be used just once a day for its effects to last throughout. This product is the first of its kind on the market.

“Just Human sanitisers offer all-day protection from germs and viruses, are free of harsh chemicals, have moisturising properties, and are proven effective against germs and viruses,” says Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, CEO of Swanrose Inc. Combining her interest in science and technology with the desire to make a difference in people’s lives, Jaiswal launched this unique product. ‘Just Human’ Hand Sanitisers range in price from Rs 120 for a pack of two 10ml products, to Rs 5000 for the 5L pack, and can be purchased on their website as well as on Amazon and Flipkart. At present, only the hand sanitiser is available for sale, but fabric and surface sanitisers are set to be launched soon.

AVOID SOCIALISING

People seem to be suffering from collective short-term memory loss, having forgotten the terrors plaguing our country just over a month ago. They are already out in droves – visiting malls, packing into hotels in crowded hill stations, and generally throwing all caution to the wind. There is a reason that all workplaces have not opened as yet — and that is not so that people can party! Be prudent and avoid socialising.

DOUBLE MASK UP EVERY TIME YOU GO OUT

This step is the easiest to follow. Ensure that you are wearing a medical-grade mask with your nose and mouth covered in the prescribed manner, and a cloth mask over the medical-grade one as extra protection. If you wish, a helmet cover can also be put on, especially in high-risk situations like hospital visits.

SCHEDULE YOUR VACCINATIONS ON TIME

The government of India has imposed a three month waiting period between doses for those not already vaccinated. When this rule was introduced, the majority of India’s population that remained unvaccinated were people between the ages of 18 to 45. Hence, if you have received one dose, do not slack off in your follow-up appointment for the second one. The higher the rate of vaccination, the more likely it that our country will be able to defeat this dreaded virus once and for all.

GET YOUR DOMESTIC HELP VACCINATED

Following on from the last point, making sure that you and your family members are vaccinated with both doses, is no longer enough of a safeguard. You must get your domestic help, people who work in your buildings or offices also vaccinated as soon as possible. The poorer sections of our society are reluctant to get vaccinated due to a lack of knowledge as well as inaccessibility. This is where we can step in to help them — reassure them of the efficacy of vaccinations, book appointments for them online and ensure they turn up for their appointments.

By investing in the ‘Just Human’ 24 Hour Sanitiser and following these simple steps, there is no reason why we cannot ride out the third wave if it does arrive soon. Our safety and that of our loved ones is entirely in our hands.
